Today in America, the widespread perception of Christianity -- one centered in nationalism, materialism and intolerance -- bears little resemblance to the life and teachings of Jesus, particularly as they concern justice, compassion, and peacemaking. To counter that, The Beatitudes Society develops and sustains a national network of emerging Christian leaders who:

•Advocate for justice, compassion and peace
•Reclaim a Christianity that welcomes all people, especially those at the margins
•Articulate a Christianity that dares to speak and act for our fragile planet and our most vulnerable citizens.

The study of Scripture is basic to the Christian life. Now the Episcopal Church has harnessed the Internet to allow Episcopalians to participate in Bible study by posting comments and thoughts on each week's Sunday readings from the Revised Common Lectionary.

You can also link to the online Bible study through Facebook or Twitter by clicking the logos to the left.

A special feature of the online Bible study is the weekly focus verse, designed for readers who want to participate but don't have time to review all the lectionary readings each week. Highlighting a single verse or a few short verses from each week's gospel selection allows even those with busy schedules to ponder a single sentence or two.

Mark Harbour, a volunteer and regular contributor from the Diocese of Los Angeles explains, "The process of becoming a better Christian is not finding the answers to questions as much as getting better at asking them."

Please watch your mail box or email in-box for important information on how you can support Trinity with your pledge for next year. When you receive your Pledge Campaign 2012 “packet” please consider how you show gratitude to God, the thanks you share with the world, and what would you do if Trinity were not here to be part of that. We’re grateful to be here, and we hope you are too!
