Reaching Out
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." - Matthew 25:35
Baby Bundles - C lothing and bedding items for newborns are presented to needy mothers at area hospitals. Whether you enjoy knitting or would just like to make a donation, new mothers in our community who need our assistance will thank you.
Family Promise - A program providing housing and meal hospitality for one week to families who are looking for work and a permanent place to live. Volunteers serve as overnight hosts, prepare and serve meals to our guests. Trinity is one of many area host churches.
Flowers - Following the last Sunday service, flowers are taken from the altar to persons in the hospital or care centers. Volunteers perform this rewarding ministry on a monthly basis. Flowers may be donated by anyone wishing to remember special family events or departed persons. Names of those remembered are printed in our weekly bulletins and included in our public prayers.
For more information on helping with these ministries, please contact the church office at (775) 329-4279 or E-mail us at gogod@trinityreno.org.
Prayer Chain - Persons who offer prayer support to anyone requesting it through a telephone network. Simply leave your name and a brief message with the parish office. Confidentiality is honored. Persons seeking special prayers on Sundays may go into the Bishop Lewis Chapel, following reception of communion, where someone will pray with them.
Quiet Committee - A group of members who help others in special times of need, i.e., illness, death od of a family member, trip to the doctor, market, meals, or even a ride to a church service.
Sack Lunches - These are emergency lunches given to the homeless. We need both donations and volunteers. Members volunteer to shop, put together the lunches, and/or come down to the church to hand them out a few days a week. T he lunches consist of a container of juice, a can of Vienna sausages, a fruit cup, a pudding cup, a package of cheese and crackers, and a granola bar.
